Broker sync and security
Your trades come in. Nothing goes out.
Two ways to bring trades in from MetaTrader, and both only read. Here is how each one works, what we keep, and what we never see.

Sign in once with your investor password. Trades arrive every night, or when you press Sync now.

The investor password
A password that can look, but never trade.
Every MetaTrader account comes with two passwords. The master password can trade. The investor password can only read: it sees your balance and your history, and it cannot place, change or close a single order.
Auto sync only ever asks for the investor one. You will find it in the email your broker sent when the account was opened, or you can set a new one in MetaTrader under Tools → Options → Server.

The Expert Advisor needs neither: it runs inside your own MetaTrader and uses a key we give you.

How auto sync works.

You connect the account once
In Settings, pick your broker's server and enter the account number and investor password. MT4 and MT5 both work. - 02
A terminal signs in for you
The details go to MetaApi, which runs a real MetaTrader terminal in its cloud and signs in to your broker. The password is held there to run your syncs; Vector does not store it. - 03
Your closed trades are read
The terminal reads your history, and each closed trade is written to your journal — with its prices, size, profit, commission and swap. - 04
Then it switches off
The terminal runs only for the minutes a sync takes. It syncs every night, and whenever you press Sync now — up to six times a day.

How the Expert Advisor works.

Get a key
In Settings, choose the Expert Advisor. You get a key for that journal account — shown once. Only a scrambled fingerprint of it is stored. - 02
Add the EA to MetaTrader 5
Download VectorSync, drop it into your Experts folder, and allow it to reach Vector in Tools → Options. Its source code is public, so you can read every line before you run it. - 03
Attach it to any chart
Paste the key into its inputs and keep Algo Trading on. The chart's corner shows when it last synced. - 04
Trades arrive as they close
It sends your past year the first time, then each trade the moment it closes, while MetaTrader is open. On a VPS it runs around the clock.
Your data
What we keep, and how it is kept.
Read-only, always
Neither route can place, change or close a trade. Vector never asks for your master password.
Yours alone
Every row in the database is locked to its owner. Another account's query cannot return a single one of your trades.
Private screenshots
Your charts sit in private storage and are shown through links that expire within the hour.
Encrypted
Everything travels over HTTPS and is encrypted at rest by our database provider.
No card details
Payments go through Paddle. Your card number never reaches our servers.
AI, only when you ask
When you use an AI feature, the trades it needs are sent to Anthropic's Claude to write the answer — and nothing is sent until you ask.
Nothing sold
Your data is never sold or shared for advertising. It is used to run your journal, and for nothing else.
Delete it all
Clear every trade, note, journal entry and screenshot from Settings whenever you like.
Sync questions
Before you connect.
Any broker that offers MetaTrader 4 or 5. Pick your broker's server from the list in Settings, or type it exactly as MetaTrader shows it. The Expert Advisor is for MetaTrader 5.
